A selection of The New Zealand Portrait Gallery’s collection has been digitised and may be accessed online through links to the Artists Index and the Subject Index.  The most recent acquisitions (within last 6 months) are shown separately.

Many of the subjects and artists have had their contributions to New Zealand recognised by the NZ honours system. Because of the complexities of the honours system and the limitations of publicly available information on individuals’ honours, our approach on this website is to include titles/honours  where they are included in the portrait title but not otherwise.
