Art Trolley
The Art Trolley is stocked with art supplies for you to enjoy using with your child during your gallery visit. Located at the back of the larger gallery, the trolley is available most days.
The Art Trolley is generously funded by The Friends of the Gallery.
Whānau Activity space
At the back of our Gallery we have an art activity space children and those young at heart. For each exhibition the space is curated with new activities related to the current artworks and artists showing. There is always something new to try!
Tips for visiting with tamariki
We welcome and encourage visits from families with children. Baby buggies are welcome throughout the gallery.
Small bags may be taken into the gallery. There are coat hooks by the front entrance.
Children under the age of 14 must be supervised.
There is a unisex wharepaku (toilet) located at the back of the Gallery. The gallery currently has a change table in the unisex toilet.
Due to restrictions from some lenders, and to protect the artworks food and beverages are not allowed in the galleries.
Admire artwork from a distance, at least an arm’s length. And no touching art, platforms, or cases (unless a sign or label says it’s okay).
Sketching and writing is encouraged in the galleries with pencils and dry media only. Please use small sketchbooks. There are art tables with other art materials located in the Gallery during some exhibitions.
Still photography is permitted for personal, non-commercial use only unless otherwise noted. Video is not permitted. Flash, tripods, and camera extension poles are not allowed.
